The Project Forwarding division in Sheffield of Denholm Good Logistics (DGL), member to the Worldwide Project Consortium (WWPC) for the United Kingdom, teamed up with fellow WWPC member LS Cargo Logistics from Germany to commonly managing a specialist out-of-gauge project. This latest project was the collection, loading, securing and movement to quay for an Oil Cooling Equipment, which was being exported to Sweden.
For the first leg of its journey, this specialist equipment had to travel from its load point in Lincoln to the loading depot in Southampton, the planning for which had to be meticulous, facilitating dimensions of 2×40 FR containers, containing four crates of 4.98 x 4.43 x 3.07 m with a weight of 10825 kg each and one crate of 3.71 x 1.40 x 2.22 m weighing 2167 kg
The responsibility of handling this movement was entrusted to DGL and their expert team, who organised the loading, lashing and securing of the OOG Cargo. The five pieces of Oil Cooling Equipment were collected from the loading site in Lincoln by DGL and were loaded onto and into the containers before being trucked down to the loading depot in Southampton. Liasing with the hauler daily ensured police escorts where in place at the correct time and location enabling a streamlined process, resulting in hassle-free loading and transportation down to Southampton. Once the specialist cargo arrived in Southampton, DGL successfully unloaded the units from the trailers onto the flat-racks for sailing, whilst ensuring that the condition of the cargo remained the same.
Throughout the entirety of the process, DGL ensured that the customer LS Cargo Logistics were regularly updated with regards to the status of their project from the very beginning and until the cargo had been delivered successfully.
Partnering with Denholm Good Logistics has enabled LS Cargo Logistics to transport this specialist cargo smoothly, safely and on schedule. Throughout the project, the dedicated DGL team guaranteed that the clients needs were adhered to, and provided the best service possible.
