BNSF Logistics wins silver in the 2015 - Brandon Hall Group Excellence Awards

Oct 14, 2015

BNSF Logistics, LLC, member to the Worldwide Project Consortium in USA, has received the coveted 2015 Brandon Hall Group silver award for excellence in the Best Results of a Learning Program category. The award specifically recognizes BNSF Logistics for its impactful new hire orientation program, Foundations. The entries were evaluated by a panel of veteran, independent senior industry experts, Brandon Hall Group Sr. Analysts and Executive Leadership based upon the following criteria: fit the need, design of the program, functionality, innovation, and overall measurable benefits.

BNSF Logistics’ Foundations goes beyond the traditional new hire orientation, providing employees
with a deep introduction to the company in an engaging participant-driven learning experience. The
1 ½ day program held monthly in the domestic headquarters located in Springdale, AR, brings all new
hires from across the country together for a stimulating, activity-fuelled agenda full of learning and
networking opportunities. New hires learn about the culture, the services, and learn more about
themselves in activities ranging from group exercises, classroom discussions, tactile exercises, teach
backs, to transportation case team competitions. “This program is unlike anything we’ve done before
and truly meets the core needs of our new employees as they acclimate to their new role with BNSF
Logistics, while jump-starting their onboarding experience and providing a lasting impression,” said
Dale VanSickle, senior manager of Learning and Development.

The BNSF Logistics Learning & Development team is an internal group dedicated to providing world-
class training and employee development solutions throughout the global organization, in turn
allowing employees to provide a superior customer experience. “It is gratifying to receive this award in
recognition of our Learning & Development team’s commitment to creating the best possible learning
environment for our new hires by tailoring training not only to drive employee performance and
success, but to also provide new hires with the opportunity to learn from their peers and to become
part of a collaborative team,” said Craig Parrish, BNSF Logistics vice president of Human Resources.

“The high quality of work and commitment to driving business results among our award winners never
fails to amaze me,” said Rachel Cooke, chief operating officer of Brandon Hall Group and head of the
awards program. “All of these winning programs deliver meaningful business results to their
organizations. Winning an Excellence Award is a great honor, but the real winners are the organizations
themselves and their customers and clients because of the innovation and customer focus they
demonstrate.”
