Dec 27, 2022

Wangfoong Transportation Limited (Hong Kong), member to the Worldwide Project Consortium (WWPC) delivered, erected, and positioned five units of CO2 tanks at the Hong Kong desalination plant.  The tanks had dimensions of 16.2 x 4.3 x 4.376 meter each, and a weight of 50 tons.

Scope of work included:

  • Provision of 230 ton crane barge to collect cargo under hook alongside inbound ocean vessel.
  • Transport cargo by barge to client’s jetty within limited operating hours.
  • Lifting of cargo onto extensible trailers with barge crane, delivery to CO2 (Carbon dioxide) building.

A spokesperson for the company explained: “Once a trailer arrived in front of the CO2 building, we performed tandem lifting with 500 tons and 200 tons mobile cranes to erect and position the tanks onto foundation template rings, with the assistance of a 45 meter Aerial platform for hooking and unhooking between lifting for this over-height cargo. With extensive preparation works, we managed to control the operation within a condensed time frame.”
