Wangfoong Transportation Ltd, member to the Worldwide Project Consortium (WWPC) for Hong Kong, operated their first truck to move cargo via the world longest bridge-cum-tunnel sea crossing – Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge.
The Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge (or Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge/HZMB), connecting Hong Kong, Zhuhai, and Macau, was officially opened on 24th October this year. The Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge is the first direct land-based passage to and from Hong Kong, Zhuhai, and Macau. Compared with the traditional waterways with 4 to 5 hours detour on land via the Humen Bridge, the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge reduces the transportation time to about 1 hour, accordingly improves the production efficiency of the entire supply chain.
On 24th October, Wangfoong provided a full truckload service for a client with an inbound air shipment, from Hong Kong to Zhuhai. In addition to rapid travelling, the customs clearance procedure was efficient and total lead time from Hong Kong to Zhuhai was about 1.5 hours.
