Road and rail for outsized bolster from USA to Canada

BNSF Logistics (BNSFL), member to the Worldwide Project Consortium (WWPC) for the USA, managed through their Houston Global Project Center and in cooperation with BNSFL Rail Logistics in Canada a shipment of 1 press bolster / 220,000 Lbs / 27 x 13’2 x 5’4 Feet

The unit was transported from the factory in Windsor, Ontario on a 12 axle platform trailer to a nearby rail siding and loaded onto a rail car.

To clear the shipment on rail the experts from BNSFL had to turn the unit to change the position width to height.

After finishing the lashing and securing of the cargo the rail car travelled on the CN and BNSF railsystems to Houston Texas Terminal where the bolster was trans-loaded from railwagon to a Goldhofer trailer and was trucked another 100 miles to the final jobsite.
