Jun 8, 2018

Cosmatos Shipping Services SA (CSS), member to the Worldwide Project Consortium (WWPC) for Greece, managed the safe transportation of 315 vehicles from Greece to Egypt and windmill blades from Poland to Greece.

315 vehicles from Greece to Egypt

CSS handled 315 cars in two lots via Thessaloniki port to Egypt.

The company’s experts arranged the offloading from trucks, temporary storage within Thessaloniki port Free Zone, transit formalities, loading on a car carrier vessel by private gang and the issuance of shipping documents.

It was a delicate operation, considering the value of the brand new cars, which was conducted under extreme safety conditions and with tight deadlines in order to catch the scheduled departure of the vessel to Egypt.

Road transport of windmill blades from Poland to Greece

CSS also arranged a complicated but most economical transport of windmill blades form Goleniow Poland to South Greece.
The blades measured 44.2 x 2.6 x 2.81 m and weighed 10.4 tons each.

CSS services included the issuance of road permits, the provision of suitable extendible trailers, the efficient coordination between authorities of all countries as well as the timely movement of the transport during stormy weather conditions.
