Global Star Logistics in Shanghai Record Move

What is being described as a ‘Record Move by Weight’ for Global Star Logistics, member to the Worldwide Project Consortium WWPC network in China, prevented the company’s Managing Director, Mr. Leo Ge from attending the recent March 14th annual membership conference for the network in Phuket, Thailand.

Instead he managed and supervised the discharge and transport of two more than 500 tons heavy single pieces with dimensions of 17,46 x 5,7 x 6,42 meters and one piece with 263,5 tons weight and dimension of 9,48 x 5,7 x 7,12 meter from a heavylift vessel at the Port of Shanghai.

The three pieces of cargo, equipment for a nuclear power station. Valued at abt USD 100 mios, the cargo was shifted by the heavylift vessels cranes straight into barges and transported to the consignees berth where the cargo got again shifted by cranes onto special trailers and SMTPs for the final transport to a workshop in Shanghai.
