Petrasco Energy Logistics, the international freight forwarding company headquartered in Dyce, Aberdeen and a member to the Worldwide Project Consortium (WWPC) for Dubai, have confirmed that they have won a contract with drilling and engineering contractor, KCA Deutag, to transport the T-45 mobile land drilling rig from Germany to North Africa.
The complex move, which starts immediately, involves transporting the 2000 MT unassembled rig from Georgsdorf, Germany to Skikda, Algeria and onwards to Ardrar Region, Southern Algeria.
Kevin Buchan, Managing Director says, “The transport of an entire working drilling rig is a demanding project with a complex scope of work. We handle projects like this because we are a true logistics partner and are able to work closely on a consultative basis with our clients, across all aspects of a move.”
In this case Petrasco’s remit covers: The coordination of load out from origin point, transportation to the loading port, the Algerian port handling and onward trucking to the remote desert rig site. In addition they we are negotiating and overseeing all port charges, the chartering of a suitable vessel, and the entire documentation services to include import documentation and customs clearance also.
Kevin Buchan concludes: “Obviously this is an international operation across multiple terrains. Making sure it can be achieved compliantly, smoothly and on time and on budget is what we do.”
Petrasco utilised Steder Group, the member to the Worldwide Project Consortium (WWPC) for The Netherlands, for their services for transport and port operations for this project.
