On the day prior to the opening of the exhibition WWPC Director, Wolfgang Karau, was invited to the office of our local member Khalidia International Shipping. WWPC founding member, Mr. Melvyn Vaz, welcomed him to their premises where he met with the newly appointed General Manager of the company, Mr. Robert Taylor and lateron Mr. Gail Barneto.
The overall impression Wolfgang got from this first Break Bulk Event in the Middle East was overwhelming positive. A new, modern, light and spacious exhibition hall showcased some 50 exhibitors in a good set-up. This show was organized extremely well and people I spoke to from side of the exhibitors and visitors all agreed. The WWPC shall be there as well next year through the 3 x 6 meter QCN booth. A variety of affordable 5 star hotels had been constructed around the exhibition center, most of them have air conditioned passage ways to the expo center.

The official opening of the Break Bulk expo included traditional dance and music. At VIP reception the invited guests got a handshake greeting from His Excellency Dr. Sultan Ahmed Al Jabel, minister of state in the United Arab Emirates.
The booth of WWPC Saudi Arabia member Almajdouie was focus for much attention by His Excellency and entourage. Almajdouie’s CEO Mr. Kim Bjerner Rathsack joined His Excellency to cut the ribbon during the opening ceremony.
Other WWPC members showcased their company and services by exhibiting included Pakistan member Aaras and Fleetline (for Iraq).
